Today, we celebrate all the dads out there. In the Baker Bear house, that means letting Daddy Bear know how much we love him and appreciate all he does.

Archie Bear helped me choose some little presents for him, a couple of cans of Goose IPA (a green one and a yellow one, thanks Archie Bear!), a mini bottle of red wine and a mini bottle of white (I don’t drink it so he never gets to have wine at home), a nice big bag of crisps, a bottle of Jack Daniels BBQ sauce, and some 70% cocoa dark chocolate.

I chose some nice cards for him from the boys, and we did some squiggles inside with some felt tips yesterday. Normally we make our own cards but I just didn’t have the energy or the time this week!

We went to a local cafe, Elsie, this morning for breakfast, a nice surprise for Daddy Bear. He had the American Breakfast, which consisted of pancakes, streaky bacon, fried eggs, fried potatoes, a sausage, and maple syrup. Yum. I had a slightly smaller version of the same, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. Archie Bear had raisin toast and butter, and a babyccino. We had to actually scoop off the foamy milk on the top before he’d drink it, even though it had a pretty chocolate star on it. Funny boy. It was all really yummy, and the service was lovely.

I’m a big fan of pretty cafes and this one was just gorgeous. Any cafe round these parts worth their salt sells baby food pouches and snacks, and this lot had all sorts to tempt them!

The meat is sourced from a local Crouch End butcher, and the eggs are delivered each week from a free range farm and are so orange and tasty. They sell locally baked artisan bread, local honey, and tea and coffee from W Martin up in Muswell Hill.

Such a treat to go have breakfast out and about, and in such lovely surroundings. We’ll definitely be going there again. Plus the coffee is YUMMY!

I’ll end this post with a big thank you to Daddy Bear for being so patient and loving with all of us Baker Bears, we love you a lot, and we thank God for you every day, not just on Father’s Day.
